About Us

Protecting businesses & people is what we do best.

We don’t just help you transform your emergency response vision into a highly effective strategic program – we are using training, technology, and hard work to fulfill our mission of protecting the world’s workers from disaster.

On the Road to Recovery

Building an Emergency Response Program that unfolds as you plan doesn’t happen in a single meeting. In fact, it can feel like it might take years to reach a point where your plan has reached maturity.

Responding to the Need

We’ve built an approach like no other in the industry. Companies with hundreds—even thousands—of employees don’t benefit from silo’d ERPs. True success happens when all four phases of your ERP (Response, Recovery, Prevention, & Training) are aligned.

Built from the Ground Up

Our system is envisioned, built, and executed by Emergency Response experts with deep experience in business management, logistics, IT, and project management. Fortune 500 companies around the world trust us to combine the critical elements of their Emergency Response and Recovery Programs, aligning them for optimal results.

Sophisticated Yet Simple Technology

Each successful Emergency Response Program is tied together by our automated systems, including TRIM, START, and MACS. We have developed best in class practices and industry benchmarks based upon years of experience consulting to customers of various sizes, footprints, industries, and risk profiles.

Say “Goodbye” to Emergency Response Silos

We help companies improve resiliency by unifying their Emergency Response Program into a cohesive, blended system.

Helping is in Our DNA

In every aspect of his life, our CEO, Malcolm Mead,  has focused on being available to people who need to sort things out, look for support, or just need an ear. On any given day, he is not only helping customers and keeping their equipment online 24-7, he is fielding questions from people in his personal life, usually when those people need help the most.

Helping is in his DNA. Malcolm founded the very successful Seattle datacenter company: ColoCenters, Inc. This colocation data center for IT backup and recovery- a service that is the backbone of today’s Business Resiliency industry. So, it was lightning in a bottle when he met the original Nexis founders in 2014.

The two companies began to talk about how strengths in IT Disaster Recovery, building automated systems, and the comprehensive approach to Emergency Response and Recovery could provide complete solutions. They were two sides of a coin, one had energy, vision and resources, the other had creative ideas and ability to execute. The combined vision and those ideas for the betterment of an industry could provide for complete disaster readiness.

It was then, their own disaster struck Nexis and could have derailed their success story. One of the original founders grew ill and could no longer continue. They all wanted to create something that empowered people to protect themselves during disasters. Founded in strength, spirituality, emotion, and most importantly, goodness, Malcolm stepped in and made the vision a reality by creating Nexis Emergency Solutions combining the strengths and unique capabilities of the two organizations.

But beyond this, we realized that there was still a key component missing, a single source of truth for their entire program. And on that day, the idea for TRIM (Tactical Resource Information Management) system was born. TRIM was the single unifying factor that could bring all the forward thinking approaches together.

When you need to unite all aspects of your Emergency Response Program, TRIM is the unifying platform that proactively assess and monitors your sites’ readiness. You can then focus strategically on continuous improvement and maturing programs to meet your Effective Response and Recovery objectives

And out of this philosophy, vision, and expertise bloomed a new Nexis. A new structure, renewed resiliency, and a unique toolset that would protect them—and their clients from that moment on.

Nexis learned firsthand a powerful lesson that has driven the development of industry-changing trainings, solutions, and now a powerful software platform: that while it’s almost impossible to completely prepare for your first disaster—you will certainly remember—and learn from it.

So, you’re not alone. As a Nexis customer, you can rest knowing that Nexis is here. Having lived it, we understand the importance of comprehensive planning, resourcing, and insight—it’s in our bones, in our structure, and in everything we do.

With Nexis, you’re prepared for almost anything.
